Sustainable landscape management encourages the systems created by nature: healthy soils supporting healthy plants. Red Cedar adopts a holistic approach to plant nutrient management by considering methods of soil fertilization and soil and water conservation. This approach is based on three principles:
- Maximize the use of organic sources of fertilizer
- Minimize the loss of nutrients
- Judiciously use inorganic fertilizers according to needs
The primary components of our Plant Nutrition Management Program consists Soils Management (restoring the natural nutrient cycle to soil), Soil Testing, Composting, Pest and Disease Control, Irrigation (water conservation & management), Proper Planting & Pruning Techniques, and Plant Selection and Placement.
